The
Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is a

In

SP JAIN, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar,
NITIE Mumbai, Goa Institute of Management, Goa. It should
be noted that all these Institutes have a placement
cell where reputed companies offer highly placed jobs.
Almost
all States are having a number of Management Institutes.
Admission to almost all these Institutes is through
Entrance Examination. Candidates successful in the Entrance
Examination are called for a Group Discussion and a
Personal Interview before the final selection is made
for admission.
A candidate is free to write several exams in the same
year.
MBA

IIMs
The
IIMs have been set up by the Government of India as
specialized institutes to improve the practice of management
in the country. The IIMs have six colleges in the country,
Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode and
Lucknow. They conduct a two year full time program leading
to (PGP- Post Graduates in Management). The facilities and faculty at the IIMs are
the best in India. The benefits for students are the
high quality of teaching, wide choice of subjects, massive
library and computer facilities and easy access to industry
for project placements. The average IIM student has
about 2 to 3 job offers even before he completes his
course. He has the option to select his employer.
Admission to the IIMs is through Common Admission Test
(CAT) which is usually held in the month of December
followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
The starting salary offered to a fresh MBA (with no
previous experience) varies between Rs. 3-15 lakh/annum
in India and if selected overseas salary may go upto
75 lakhs per annum paid in foreign currency.

full time 2 years programme leads to the Institute's

CET (Common Entrance Test): Admission to all Management Institutes in
the State of Maharashtra is based on CET.
Apart from the above, there are various exams like MAT conducted by All India Management Association, New Delhi, JMET conducted by IIT's and IISc, & ATMA conducted by Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS).
There
are approximately 140 Institutions offering MBA courses
