Elite Academy was founded in 2010 by Bob Betts, a respected member of the security industry and qualified teacher. Bob was part of the original focus team for the SIA qualification’s framework in 2004 having been active in the industry since the mid 1990’s. Writing one of the first Physical Intervention programmes approved for the Security Industry, Bob established Elite's current position as one of the leading providers of Physical Intervention and control and restraint,working with over 500 companies both in the UK and worldwide. Bob has provided expert witness consultancy, advice and guidance to schools and hospitals and is well known for his informative and entertaining keynote speeches at security conferences.
John Allton Jones , Chairman
John Allton Jones is Elites's Chairman. an entrepreneur and leading business development specialist he brings an impressive portfolio of success and a wealth of experience in business growth, with a vision to build on Elite's passion and unique teaching and training capability. He has been instrumental in revolutionising the administration processes, making the booking process with Elite efficient and seamless. He has also developed our Ambassador programme, both in the UK and overseas.

Aaron Syrett, General Manager
Aaron is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in frontline security, ranging from the head doorman of bars and clubs, and large-scale events to Hospital and Higher Education security, progressively working his way to security management levels. Throughout his career, working in these various capacities has allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the industry and the skills required to excel in it. His expertise led him to become an Elite Master Instructor, a role in which he had the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience with both those starting in the industry and those wishing to follow in his footsteps to become instructors, helping to shape the next generation of security professionals. Because of Aaron’s background in management and frontline experience, coupled with his teaching ability and professionalism, Elite Academy decided to promote Aaron to the new role of General manager, overseeing both Elite Academy and Guard in April 2023.
Adam Harvey, Accountant
Adam started working for Elite in 2021 as an apprentice accountant and our in-house 'IT whiz'. He works alongside John to deal with all things numbers. He's hoping to become a fully qualified Chartered Accountant and start his own firm.
