Aaron Syrett

Aaron is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in frontline security, ranging from the head doorman of bars and clubs, and large-scale events to Hospital and Higher Education security, progressively working his way to security management levels. Throughout his career, working in these various capacities has allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the industry and the skills required to excel in it. His expertise led him to become an Elite Master Instructor, a role in which he had the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience with both those starting in the industry and those wishing to follow in his footsteps to become instructors, helping to shape the next generation of security professionals. Because of Aaron’s background in management and frontline experience, coupled with his teaching ability and professionalism,  Elite Academy decided to promote Aaron to the new role of General manager, overseeing both Elite Academy and Guard in April 2023.

Bob Betts

Bob is a respected member of the security industry and a qualified teacher, Bob was part of the original focus team for the SIA qualification framework in 2004 having been active in the industry since the mid-1990s. An exemplary military and home office career as a senior officer provided an excellent background to undertake both a BA (Hons) and Certificate in Education, which earned him a place as one of the original training providers for LOCOG at the 2012 games and thereafter an operational managers role for the Olympic Delivery Authority.  

James McCracken

James first came to the security industry in 2012 after spending 6 years in the parachute regiment. He completed several close protection tasking including the Queen's jubilee and the 2012 Olympic Games. After this, he established himself in the investigations sector becoming a team leader and trainer for one of the best know investigations companies in the UK. However, for personal reasons, he then became a prison officer at HMP Liverpool where he excelled in Control & Restraint and Physical Intervention becoming a highly respected member of the Control & Restraint fraternity and stand-in Co-ordinator. Returning to the security industry in 2019 James refreshed his CP qualification with Elite Academy and from there grew within the industry. Completing several recognised Risk Management courses along with all his teaching qualifications with Elite Academy. James has been training full-time with Elite since May 2022.
