Description
The qualification meets the Security Industry Authority (SIA) specification for core competency training for door supervisors, which covers the necessary understanding and skills required by individuals who work in the licensed leisure .Door supervisors are required to play an active role in safety of customers at licenced venues.
In line with the updated course specification from the SIA from 1st April 2021, this course will now be delivered over 6 days, and will include an Emergency First Aid at Work unit and qualification
Aim:
To provide the learner with the knowledge and understanding to ensure the provision of a professional level of service as a door supervisor; and to address the licensing requirements in the SIA regulated operational environment.
Objective:
- Develop the learner’s understanding of the roles and responsibilities of door supervisors working in a secure leisure environment, and the
relevance of regulations within which they must operate - Develop the learner’s knowledge of health and safety in the workplace including awareness of emergency procedures
- Develop the learner’s abilities to recognise, defuse and resolve conflict situations
- Provide the learner with knowledge of the law and legal issues
- Enable the learner to implement effective methods of communication
This will also allow the learner to apply Physical Intervention
Prerequisites:
This course has online Pre-Course learning. As the online modules form part of the syllabus, they MUST be completed prior to attending. You will need to log onto our portal at www.elite-awards.co.uk, and create an account. This account will only be approved upon confirmation of your booking, and payment received. The only exception to this is if your booking is via one of our Preferred Partnership Scheme members.
Any candidate not completing the mandatory modules will NOT be able to attend the course.
